Maketu Health and Social Services is a kaupapa Māori charitable trust who provides high quality health and social services to Maketu and surrounding communities in the Western Bay of Plenty.
The organisation was established in 1996 by a group of local wahine who saw the need for health and social services that addressed and supported equity for Māori. Our kaupapa has always been to develop, promote, purchase and/or provide culturally appropriate programmes and services that will enhance, through support and education, the health and welfare of the people of Maketu and surrounding communities.
Since this time, Maketu Hauora has grown significantly and become a well established and reputable organisation supporting whānau and communities to achieve optimum health and wellbeing.
