Mānawatia a Matariki! Te Kete Matariki – Te Puke returns for its fifth year, celebrating the Māori New Year with our community at Jellicoe Park on 20 June 2025.
Te Kete Matariki is a much-loved annual event in Te Puke, proudly Māori-led and brought to life in partnership with tangata whenua and the wider hapori (community). After the success of our 2021–2024 events, we are thrilled to be returning for our 2025 celebration on 20 June at Jellicoe Park. This vibrant day will be filled with culture, celebration, music, and kai, welcoming the community to come together in the spirit of Matariki.
Presented by Hemasphere Ltd and Made In Te Puke, Te Kete Matariki is a showcase of the heart and spirit of Te Puke. The kaupapa is led by community leaders Kassie Ellis (Made in Te Puke Trust) and Sam Hema (Hemasphere Ltd Consultancy), alongside tangata whenua and the hapori whānui.
Our purpose is to align closely with our iwi, hapū, and whānau to honour Matariki in a meaningful way that uplifts and connects our entire community.
